Textural Mug workshop with Radka Losert: May 30, 2026

Dorval Artisans member Radka Losert is offering a fun bilingual workshop to hand-build a personalized textured mug from stoneware clay. Participants will build a mug using the textured slab method.

Date: Saturday, May 30, 2026

Duratlon: 2 hours, from 2pm to 4pm

Target audience: adults, teens 16+

Number of participants: Minimum 6, Maximum 8

Materials included: clay -600g/participant

Tools provided to share: rollers, cutting tools, stamps, brushes, rubber & steel ribs, pottery knives, outline stencils, cardboard boards

Please bring (optional): personal stamps (e.g. shells, toy components, etc)

Price per participant: $45 for members of the Dorval Artisans Guild, $55 for non-members

After the workshop, the mugs need to be slowly dried, after which the instructor will bisque-fire them (at 942⁰C), apply the glaze previously specified by each student (choice of ~4 colours), and then re-fire the mugs again (at 1,220⁰C). The glazes are food-safe. The mugs will be available for pick-up at the Sarto Desnoyer center 2-3 weeks after the workshop
